SHABOOTY INTERVIEW SERIES: Riley Steele

I’m not really sure the best way to describe Riley Steele. To say she’s too hot to be in porn would be cliche. So let’s just say she’s the reason for innovation. A nerd/inventor wakes up in the morning, trying to make the next iPhone, so a girl like Riley Steele would marry him. Haha… or say, you’re a powerful Hollywood movie director –you use your power to innovate ways to get a Riley Steele eaten by Piranhas… (she was in Piranha 3D). Riley’s also a Digital Playground contract girl and Jesse Jane got her into the business. We talk about all things Pr0n, Howard Stern, traveling, and I get a shabooty shoutout, to boot!

Shabooty: Do you do feature dancing?
Riley Steele: Yeah, I love feature dancing, I love getting to travel. It’s really fun. It’s mostly in the East Coast, and I’m from San Diego, so I don’t really get that kind of weather, and get to [often] meet those kind of people, so it’s always nice to be able to go to different places and see the sights and shop.

One of my questions was similar to that as far as traveling, because I know you and Jesse Jane you do a lot of shoots, overseas. I’ve heard of Romania and Africa and stuff — a lot of these places sound kind of secluded. How do you end up in places like that?
Well, Romania was the scariest place I’ve been because I went by myself, and it was just, it’s really scary. But the second time I went, it was okay, because I knew the area, and where I could walk around… The first time, I had a taxi take me to McDonald’s –that was the only food I could eat, and I gave them 50 dollars of their money just to take me down the street and get me back safe — I was soo scared. So whenever we go to Africa, or Australia we have somebody with us to take care of us and to make sure we’re okay… and getting our frozen yogurt, ya know.

You’re addicted to Frozen Yogurt?
I am… I eat it everyday.

I think I saw one of your tweets today, you were all like, “I got all of this shit to do, I’m just trying to eat frozen yogurt!”
That’s right!

And speaking of another tweet… you actually play video games or is tweeting about video games just to connect to your male fans?
Yes, I just got a PS3 today, so I’m moving to San Diego, so I am going home tonight –I still have a few more errands to do, and I’m going to play…I’ve got the Tekken vs Street Fighter. I am so excited because I love Tekken. I love playing so I can’t wait, tonight’s gonna be fun.

Are you gonna get the WiiU?
No, I don’t want the Wii I just want the Playstation. I like the more –action games.

Have you been on the Howard Stern Show?
Yeah, I was on Howard Stern two years ago. It was right when I first started to get big, right when Piranha came out. I went on Howard, it was really fun, but I was really nervous, though.

After you went on the show, did you notice a huge influx of Howard Stern fans, being your new fans?
Yeah, especially when they re-air it… I always know when they’re re-airing it because I always get all of these tweets about it.

Yeah, they’re very hardcore fans.
*laugh*

How long have you been doing pr0n now?
Five years.

And so you’re a proud San Diego native?
Yep, that’s why I’m moving back here. I hated LA.

How many of the [SD] Chargers have tried to hit on you?
None, I swear, none. But I am dancing down here, next weekend. So we’ll see!

What, are you looking forward to running into some Chargers?
Always.

I mean, I’m sure if you wanted to date a Charger, you could date a Charger. 
I know, I might be more embarrassed.

As far as dudes you date, do you prefer dating a high profile guy, or a guy with a regular job?
Well see, I never date anybody in the industry, ever. I just couldn’t. I know all of these guys, they’re all brats. No, I never really liked high profile, because I’m very low-key; I just like to go out to dinner, that’s all I really like to do. I just like to be mellow… when I’m not up in LA having to work, I’m just down in San Diego.

If you’re at a convention and you’re interacting with your fans, do you just put on your extroverted face, and get in the moment, or are you shy in person? Do you turn it off and on as far as being shy and unshy?
I was really shy growing up, and I’m still pretty shy, I’m just more quiet. I like hanging out with older people. When you’re at conventions, and you’re by your fans and everything, they bring it out of you and you just get more excited… but yeah, there’s def. a difference from when I’m working and when I’m not working.

How as it working on Piranha 3D?
I was there for three months. It was really fun though. It was long, it’s the longest I’ve ever been away from home. It was really fun, it was just in Arizona. It was a great experience.

They didn’t make you do a casting couch to get the role?
I didn’t do CASTING COUCH!

I’m kidding.
I got it on my raw talent, duh! Ha.

To be honest, I haven’t seen it yet, but you’re the only reason I would go see it.
OMG, Jesse Jane took her son to go see it, and I was like, “you took your son to go see it??? But that movie is so bad!” And she was covering up his eyes the whole time, her son and his little friends, she was not happy about that. That movie is very grotesque. There’s lots of blood, lots of boobs…

Do they know that’s Mommy’s friend (on the big screen)?
She told them that, “this is my friend,” and they were like, “you know her?!?” and I’m like, “you don’t even know who YOUR mom is!”

LOLOL! She lives in Oklahoma, so there’s no pr0n out there…
I know, I can’t live in Oklahoma.

Her kid’s son’s friends must come over and their eyes must pop out of their heads.
Oh I know, oh man, it must be crazy.

Is Jesse Jane your fav Digital Playground girl?
I’m closest with her. We’ve had so many girls come and go, but I think her, me, and Stoya, are the only ones that have been there the most time. Her and I just really click…we have too much fun together whenever we go out…we know we’re in for trouble.

The fact that the head of Digital Playground was a woman –did that change anything, and did that make it better?
Yeah, it was so much better when we had Samantha running the company because she’s so motherly to us, and she’d take care of us, she just has that motherly figure over the girls because the industry’s so powered by men you know, but it’s really about the women, so she really had a big part in making sure the women are more in charge.

I didn’t realize at first she was no longer running Digital Playground.
You gotta check up on your p0rn, boy!

Yeah, I’m sure if I had to do a pr0n trivia test, there are plenty of guys that know a million things more than me… Anyway, so at what point do you think you’re going to retire and marry a rich guy?
I dunno, cause I’m not gonna try to marry rich. I’ve just sorta gone with the flow… and living my life and just enjoying it right now.

You’re a free spirit you don’t like to be nailed down?
No, I just like to have fun.

You wouldn’t like it if you were with a guy and he was checking up on you every two minutes like, “ehh, where’d you go?”
No, that would be annoying.

Whoever’s dating you, they have to be very secure, right?
Yeah, it’s gotta be really hard. I don’t know how people do it. I don’t know how people date in the industry.

What’s the next release you have coming out that you’re promoting?
Next release, we’ve just had, “Riley Strip for Me,” and then we have “Code of Honor” coming out.

And which one was your favorite to do?
I think ‘Riley Will You Strip For Me’, because I was just beginning to do my feature dancing, and knowing how much I wanted to do stripping, they wrote that movie for me, cause that was what was going on in my life at that time so they wrote that script for me. I was really excited to get to play that role. But ‘Code of Honor’, it was SO MUCH WORK, it was like a week straight of shooting. And now we’re getting ready to do our next one, at the end of the month. So, it’s gonna be crazy!

You’re a contract girl, right?
Yeah…

I mean, compared to the lesser p0rnstars in the industry, you’re a bigger name and stuff, a lot of them don’t get the chance to do more acting…you have more of an opportunity to do Digital Playground movies, where there’s an actual script!
Yeah, there’s an actual script that we have to learn, and memorize, otherwise we get in big trouble.

Are you good at the memorizing process?
Yeah, I’ve def. gotten a lot better, because you just pick things up and you learn, and before I used to be so nervous because I was the new girl, but now I’m not the new girl and I know everybody, so…

Were you ever into the DRAMA CLUB (in school)?
No, I was not into any club in school. I was more into the skipping school club.

Oh, you weren’t a cheerleader?
I wasn’t a cheerleader, no, I did not like school, I was out having fun.

If you’re representing San Diego and all, isn’t that near Tijuana? Do you ever go to Tijuana?
I’ve never been to Tijuana …all of my friends used to go in school. I never went though.

Because it’s scary?
My dad would never let me be gone away for that long.

It’s lawless though, right?
I guess…but Amsterdam, I’d rather go there!

Did you hear about how Colorado is legalizing weed?
Good for them.

You might have to do a feature date in Colorado.
I’m gonna have to go dance in Colorado now.

Do you smoke or not?
Oh, I can’t talk about these things! I’m a contract girl.

A lot of girls hold out on doing certain things on film, for more money…for example, interracial. So are you holding out on doing anything in the future?
There’s a lot of stuff that I haven’t done yet for Digital Playground that I am saving for my own personal website when I launch that… stuff that I’ve been shooting for a long time. But nothing crazy. I’m not doing interracial because I knew a girl who had done it, and she got so many death threats, and hate mail, and people really tried to go after her, so… most of the viewers are middle America, and most Middle America people, don’t agree with interracial, so you gotta remember who your consumer is, and all of that; that’s just not [a path] I want to go down.

When do you think your own site will launch?
I’m not sure when it’s supposed to launch, we had a big issue with them all, a few months ago, so they’re still trying to resolve everything.

Isn’t it true a lot of the girls that have their own site, what they’ll do…for example, if we’re both pr0n chicks, “let’s hook up, and I’ll record it for my site, and you’ll record it for your site.” Does that kind of content swapping go on a lot?
I do that with Jesse Jane. That’s the only person I do it with.

When you do your site, it’s still just gonna be with Digital Playground girls?
Oh, the only one that I would work with, would be Jesse, and my stuff is just solo, and some other stuff.

Would you ever hook up with Charlie Sheen?
Uhh. No. No I have not.

I mean does he repulse you?
No, he doesn’t repulse me, it’s just I think that whole situation repulses me.

If it so happens that in the future, the pr0n industry moves, out of LA, [because of the changing condom laws] how would you feel about that?
Well, it’s just out of LA County, so it would just be shooting, in Malibu, or shooting in Pasadena, different places that have their own little city laws.

Yeah, so then it’d all still technically be in the same area.
Yeah!

So is it not that big of a deal then?
Well, I think it is a big deal, but it’s not gonna stop anything.
